Bishop's Youth Fireside

Sister Hibbard, Mariah, Jen, Sahana, Crystal, Sister Perry

Our fabulous youth!
We had a fireside at Brother Headlee's house tonight. The theme was "proper dating" and we had a panel of two wonderful couples in our ward. They talked about their dating experience and opened it up to questions from the youth.

girls camp was a BLAST!!! (as usual..) the theme was "the fairest of them all" and our ward mascot was "the princess and the pea". the girls had a lot of fun, they rode the zip line, did their skit (cute!!), saved a squirrel, walked across the rope line, and had a rock concert at the princess luncheon.. just to name a few..

we love our girls, they make our ward so unique and so fun. we are so proud of their testimonies and the great decisions they make on a daily basis!

Glow in the dark Volleyball

Tonight we had such a f-u-n joint activity with the YM. We played glow in the dark volleyball! We had bracelets and face paint and even a ball that glowed. We also had a black light to add to the effect. It was a little crazy but such a great time!
THANK YOU to the Waldrons for opening your home to our boisterous group :)

Faith Factor

WHAT A FUN NIGHT!! Sister Perry organized this super fun activity with the YM - we divided up into 4 teams, answered scripture questions, and had some crazy competition. The youth were real sports when it came to putting their face in messy stuff and eating things! They also proved their fantastic scripture knowledge!

New Beginnings

Tonight we had our annual New Beginnings program. This program is where we introduce the YW theme and talk about the importance of Personal Progress.

Sister Perry, Sister Hibbard, Sister Gillihan

Shantris and Terrell

Mariah and her mom & dad

Sister Van Altyne and Sister "mom" Snyder

Kandace & mom
It was a fantastic evening. The girls did a value presentation, showing us the importance of each value. They also sang "I Walk in Faith" - they did a fantastic job!
It is our goal that each young woman receives recognition come November for passing off a value. It is really great to have a program like this to help us remember why personal progress is so important!

Heart Attack

Pam, Sierra, Kandace, Lexi and Mariah
(Terrell was at the career night meeting and met up with us later!)
We have some crafty girls in our YW. Tonight they made some very cute hearts so that we could "heart attack" the bishop's & Headlee's houses.

We had a total of about 40 hearts to give out and a box full of treats.

Here is Pam on the glitter station. Good work Pam!!

Then we were off... we tried really hard to be quiet and sneak up on the houses...

We stuck the hearts all over the ground along with some suckers.

Kandace was our door-ding-ditcher girl on duty. She rang and we ran!

Lexi & Pam - so cute!!

sweet nothings....

Tonight's activity Sister Gillihan got us one step closer to passing off values in our personal progress books! (yay!) We discussed how it is important to build others up and to let people that we admire why we admire them and how we love them. It's always nice to hear good things about ourselves and it is so important that we learn to share these feelings with the people in our lives that have made good impressions upon us.
Sister Gillihan is awesome - our girls are doing great with personal progress thanks to her wonderful efforts!
So tonight after we had a discussion and read some scriptures we took a few minutes to write little notes to people we appreciate and love!

a sad goodbye

This past week the Trader family has moved out of our Coronado Ward. We have had such a fun time getting to know and serving with these beautiful girls. Good news is that they didn't go far so we'll still see them - even at the church every week at mutual. Each of these girls have such a unique spirit and personality and have brought so much fun and laughter into our Young Women program!
